- In order to complete the online application process, you
must pay the application fee with a valid VISA or MasterCard credit card.
- Print the Verification Form (pdf format)and the Secondary School Report Form.(pdf format).
If you do not have Adobe Acrobat reader, click on the Acrobat Reader button to download
the software.

- Sign and date the statement at the bottom of the Verification Form.
- Take these two forms to your high school counselor. The Secondary School Report Form
should be completed by your counselor according to the instructions.
- Applicants may include an optional one-page writing sample. This may
either be a graded essay, or an original paper on a topic of your choice.
- Print out and read the Social Security
Waiver form. This form is not required in order for your application to be complete,
however it does impact your application for financial aid.
- The counselor will send the following items to the VMI Admissions Office:
- Verification Form
- Secondary School Report Form
- High School Transcripts
- Essay (optional)
- If you are a Virginia Resident, print and complete the Virginia
In-State Form.(pdf format)
- If you wish to apply for financial aid, you must complete the FAFSA form on-line or
obtain a copy from your high school guidance office.
- Applicants must submit SAT I or ACT scores. VMI's SAT code is 5858,
and the ACT code is 4418.
- If English is not your primary language, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign
Language (TOEFL).
